Lymphedema, an article written by Cheryl Chapman (Massage
Therapy Journal,Winter 2001) & Gayle Macdonald's" Medicine
Hands: Massage Therapy for People Living with Cancer" alongwith
other researches were discussed extensively.
What should be done in case you have a client who has one or
more lymph nodes removed from the neck, axilla, groin, pelvis or
retroperitoneum?
What is Lymph and Lymphatics?
Why Lymphedema should be taken seriously?
What are different types of Lymphedema ?
What is the treatment ?
What is breast cancer and what causes it ?
Types of breast cancers, how does cancer spreads? How is breast
cancer diagnosed? What are treatments for breast cancer? What
are the common side effects of cancer and its treatment ? What are
psychosocial issues people with breast cancer face ?
Principles and Practice of Massage for Breast Cancer were
discussed in details with practicals on table.

therapists?

breast reconstruction and implants ?
What I learnt was surprisingly new and very extensive, with
hundreds of new medical words and definitions.
The most important were the subtle, soft techniques of doing
massage . The workshop really changed my perception ,
knowledge, and trained me to work on people suffering with cancer
with new techniques which are really different from Swedish and
Deep Tissue Massage.
